Speaking of Strong Style - An NJPW podcast

This week, Steven and Jeremy looked at the two-night Dontaku event, featuring Callum Newman and United Empire's hot streak. Where is the Will Ospreay-Newman storyline going? Plus, the other major matches from Dontaku, Ted Turner's passing, a preview of the Best of the Super Juniors tournament and the very early history of Tiger Mask IV as his retirement approaches. 
 

This week, Steven and Jeremy looked at Redzone in Hiroshima and Hizen No Kuni, and why the tag team title matches in Hiroshima were so good while the Lumberjack Match main event in Saga was so poorly executed. They also looked at STARDOM's enormous success with All Star Grand Queendom, drawing 8,000 putting over new talent, and how it contrasts with NJPW's sinking attendance and booking woes. They also previewed two nights of Pro Wrestling Dontaku and talked about how Will Ospreay's AEW angle could impact his New Japan matches this weekend.

They also discussed BUSHIROAD's big loan and what it might mean for NJPW, Wrestlemania week, how video games have affected how wrestlers work their matches today, and Jeremy's recent comic book find featuring Mercedes Mone, Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega and more.

This week, Steven and Jeremy reviewed the semifinals and finals of the New Japan Cup. What will become of Shota Umino and Yuya Uemura after more failures, and is Callum Newman the foreign heel the company needs right now? Plus, Konosuke Takeshita's role, long-term contracts in NJPW and Steven wondered about Hiroshi Tanahashi's true intentions when it comes to making babyfaces. 

This week, Steven and Jeremy looked at what led us to the New Japan Cup semifinals. There were big wins for Shota Umino, Yuya Uemura, Oleg Boltin and Callum Newman. The guys looked at each contender for the Cup and broke down why they should or shouldn't win. They also looked at some new signings for the junior heavyweight division and Steven talked about how refreshing it was to see TJPW in person this week. 

This week, Steven and Jeremy discussed an Anniversary that felt like an avatar for New Japan as a whole, one really good part mixed with a lot of tired and lackluster content. They also looked at the early rounds of the New Japan Cup, where we got an overdose of House of Torture and were left aching for good wrestling that rarely arrived. Plus, Jeremy's trip to AEW Dynamite.
